High quality silk flowers will, without a doubt, give the illusion of reality.  But when they are arranged in a beautiful vase of decorative marbles or rocks, a great deal of that illusion, like a cloud of smoke, vanishes.  Even the most highly skilled at mixing colors and arranging flowers in the perfect vase cannot assemble a realistic flower arrangement with those tools.

One of the fastest growing trends in the floral design industry today are liquid illusion flower arrangements.  You see, liquid illusion arrangements are artificial flowers that look as if they are in a vase of water.   To make a silk flower arrangement look more realistic as well as professional, a clear, strong gelatin is added to a clear vase of flowers to give the illusion of a vase of flowers in water.  The process is often referred to as liquid illusion, some will say acrylic water, fake water, or faux water.  This wonderfully, creative process clearly creates the illusion of reality.  Liquid illusion flower arrangements are far more superior in quality, appearance, and design.

Did you know that the bird of paradise is actually a bird?  That’s right!  It is one of the most beautiful birds you will ever see.  Some of them are bright green and yellow, some are brilliant red.  What they all have common are the beautiful long feathery plumes that grown from its back.  Their beautiful tails are usually a very stunning deep golden-yellow. 

There is a flower by the same name, which is equally as colorful and beautiful.  In fact, it is one of my favorite flowers sporting bright shades of green, orange, blue and pink.  Exotic and bright, the flower resembles the head and beak the bird it’s named after with large leaves on even longer stems causing the flower to look as if a real bird emerging from the leaves.  The Bird of Paradise flowering plant is native to South Africa and grows profusely in California.  As a cut flower it will last longer than many other fresh cut flowers, but as silk flowers in a vase of liquid illusion,  artificial water or faux water as some call it, you can enjoy their colorful, exotic beauty forever!

Peonies are one of the favorites among flower enthusiasts.  After all, they were one of the first perennial flowers grown in American gardens.  Peonies are large, lush, fragrant flowers that range in color from pure white to deep crimson.  They are often chosen as wedding flowers because they are so feminine, gracious and charming, are easily available in late spring to early summers in almost any color imaginable, and are bursting with fragrance.   The full and ruffle blooms of peonies make an awesome bridal bouquet on its own or combined with other flowers. 

Silk peonies are now available in an array of colors.  They are the highlight of many centerpiece designs often arranged in combination with other flowers of a similar shape.  Like-like peonies look great as cut flowers in a clear glass vase of artificial water, often referred to as liquid illusion or faux water.  The flower demands attention as a focal point in a wreath on the front door or entryway. A dazzling peony arrangement is a colorful addition to any space regardless of the occasion or season.
